| Description of the problem | The rear suspension began to produce a hissing noise upon parking. The next time while driving a loud release of air was heard coming from the rear passenger side and the rear end of the car slammed to the ground. Now i have to have the rear suspension replaced. This sudden failure at highway speeds, especially in unfavorable weather conditions, could result in a serious accident. Reports of problems with the airmatic system are abundant and not just isolated to my and year of car. In fact mb is currently in a class action litigation regarding the airmatic suspension in their gl line of cars. I believe the problem to be systemic and should be resolved by mb to help assure the safety of those that drive their vehicles. |
